  • 1 sewer: $75 - one 60 minute lesson

    2 sewers: $120 - one 70 minute lesson

  • Fabrics are not one-size-fits-all.

    Usually, we don’t know what you’ll like to work on. Bring what suits your project. We handle everything else, from machines, tools to instruction.

Individual, or small group up to 4 sewers that know each other.

This session may be taken at any time in your sewing journey.

One-on-one instruction with a professional designer, but you are the driving force in this class. We take your lead, and will work on anything you want to focus on. If you are unsure, reach out to us first. Each session is tailored to your level and individual needs.

Sewing Machine Intro Workshop

You’ll learn:

  • How to thread and control the machine

  • Straight stitching

  • Turning corners

And leave with a simple pouch sewn by you.

01 - START HERE. Prerequisite to any other sewing class.

$95 | 2 Hours | Ages 14 + | Absolute Beginner

  • Learn how to work with the machine—not fight it.

    Learn: threading, machine control, straight stitching, turning corners, and topstitching. The flow, the feel, the logic of assembly.

    Focus: building control and understanding how fabric + machine = construction.

    Mistakes are part of it. This is about building muscle memory—not chasing perfection.

Hand Sewing Intro Workshop

  • How to thread and knot properly

  • Running stitch, backstitch, whipstitch, and slip stitch

  • Basic mending + invisible repairs.

  • Learn how to sew without a machine—and actually enjoy it.

    This class focuses on control, technique, and understanding how fabric behaves in your hands. You’ll learn essential hand stitches used in real garment construction, mending, and design.

    We move slow. Precision over chaos.

    You’ll leave knowing how to fix, build, and finish pieces by hand.

  • All pieces are pre-cut, so you can focus on learning how to sew. You’ll be guided step-by-step through assembling, stitching, turning, and finishing a clean 18” x 18” decorative pillow cover.

    We focus on control, straight seams, and clean corners—skills that actually carry over to everything else you’ll sew.

02 - EVERYDAY CONSTRUCTION.

  • All pieces are pre-cut, so you can focus on how to sew—not how to measure. You’ll be guided step-by-step through constructing a standard pillowcase using the “burrito method” (yes, it’s a thing, and it works).

    This method creates fully enclosed seams—clean on the outside, clean on the inside, and holds up in real life.

    Small Class Size (maximum 4 students)

You’ll learn:

  • How to set up and control a sewing machine

  • Straight seams with consistent seam allowance

  • How to construct and attach a pocket

  • How to turn, topstitch, and finish edges cleanly

  • Assembling a multi-piece project from start to finish

Apron Workshop

  • All pieces are pre-cut, so you can focus on sewing, not measuring. You’ll be guided step-by-step through assembling a full apron.

    This is about control, alignment, and understanding how separate pieces come together into something wearable.

    You’ll leave with a finished apron that really holds up.

    This isn’t just “sew and go.” You’ll learn how to build something that holds weight, keeps its shape, and looks intentional.

    Small class size (maximum 4 students)

You’ll learn:

  • How to measure, mark, and fold hems accurately

  • Single fold, double fold, and clean edge finishes

  • Blind hem (machine or hand)

  • Slip stitch (hand finish)

  • Topstitched hems

  • How to choose the right hem for different fabrics

03 - TECHNICAL FOUNDATIONS.

  • Hemming is one of the most visible parts of any garment—and one of the most poorly done. In this workshop, you’ll learn multiple hemming techniques used for different fabrics and finishes.

    Small class size (maximum 5 students)

You’ll work through essential pocket styles and understand how each one functions, with structured samples to learn each technique.

03 - TECHNICAL FOUNDATIONS.

$95 | 2 Hours | Ages 16+ | Beginner - Intermediate

  • Pockets seem simple—until they’re crooked, bulky, or pulling the garment apart.

    In this workshop, you’ll learn how to construct and place pockets with intention.

Fashion Atelier For Adults and Teens 14+

Independent Fashion Design | Sewing | Garment Construction

Fashion Atelier is the ongoing studio program for teens and adults who are ready to move beyond prescribed beginner projects and develop their own work.

Instead of everyone making the same thing, each student works on an individual garment, design, or technical challenge with professional guidance. One person may be fitting a dress while another is modifying a pattern, experimenting with draping, developing a portfolio piece, upcycling an existing garment, or working through a construction problem.

You know how to sew. Now decide what you want to make.

Fashion Atelier For Adults and Teens

  • All basic studio materials included. Please bring your own fabric.

    • Four consecutive 90-minute classes

    • Small group - maximum 3 students - lots of 1-on-1

    • Work on your own individual project

    • Re-register every four weeks to continue your project or begin something new

    • Use our sewing machines (or bring your own), dress forms, tools, cutting tables, and studio equipment

    • Bring project-specific fabric, patterns, garments, or materials as needed

    • Pattern paper and draping fabric provided

  • Depending on your project and experience, your studio work may include:

    • Garment construction

    • Pattern modification

    • Fit and alterations

    • Draping on dress forms

    • Fashion illustration and design development

    • Textile and fabric exploration

    • Upcycling and redesign

    • Surface embellishment

    • Finishing techniques

    • Portfolio development

    • Construction troubleshooting and problem-solving

    There are no identical projects here.

    The goal isn't to race through a prescribed project. It's to understand what you're making, make increasingly independent decisions, and develop the technical skills to take an idea from concept to finished piece.

  • Fashion Atelier is not an absolute-beginner sewing class.

    Students should already be comfortable operating a sewing machine independently, including threading the machine, winding a bobbin, controlling the machine, sewing a consistent seam allowance, and handling basic troubleshooting.

    You do not need to be an advanced sewer, patternmaker, or fashion designer.

    If you have basic sewing experience and are ready to work more independently, you're ready to start developing your own projects.
