‘Stitching Group’ is unstructured hangout time for adults who want to do their handwork in good company.
Bring what you’re working on — whether it’s knitting, embroidery, needlepoint, crochet, hand sewing, applique, or any other slow craft you love — and pull up a chair.
Here’s what to expect:
Bring your own project and supplies.
Settle in at the table with other creatives doing the same.
Chat, sip, stitch, take breaks, and enjoy the rhythm of making together.
This is a relaxed, social space — no agendas, no curriculum, no pressure.
We open the studio, you bring the craft. Whatever you’re stitching, it’s welcome.
There’s coffee and tea available in the Parlor — donations appreciated but never required.
This is adult-only creative time and connection. No signup fee. Just show up and make.
Before you Come - q&a
-
‘Open Studios’ is free-form access to our creative workspace: emerging artist, fashion students, crafters and makers, ages 17+.
You come in, you make stuff - no structured lesson, just inspiration, tools, and time to do your thing, your way. Bring your projects and supplies.
There are two creative rooms and a cozy lounge-style front area, that we call a “parlor”.
Sewing stations: sewing machines, an overlock, threads, supplies.
A 4’x8’ cutting/pattern drafting table with a motorized base to fit your height and need.
Textile and fiber nook: yarns, hooks, needles, fabric scraps, embroidery hoops and floss.
Clean, calm, funky, and very Sew Dandelions.
There’s also a kitchenette with a microwave, fridge, tea and coffee setup.
Restrooms are just outside our space in the hallway.

Nope… but this is NOT a class - so if you want instruction, check out our courses or 1:1 lessons.
That said, we love helping people feel at home and will absolutely guide you if we can. There will always be a knowledgeable instructor around, ready to troubleshoot.

No, not for Open Studios.
These are adult-only sessions. This is focused creative time. No exceptions.
-
No.
This is independent work time. You should already know how to use a machine and work safely. However, there’s always someone in the studio to answer your questions and give you a pat on your back.
-
Please, no food/snacks in the sewing studios (those rooms are marked).
You’re welcome to bring your own snacks — just be mindful of cleanup. This is a complimentary gathering and we don’t have cleaning staff on site, so we all help keep the space beautiful.
Please place all food and drink–related trash in the kitchen trash can (not the stitching room baskets).
We have a Keurig and a solid stash of coffee and tea. Help yourself. It’s offered freely, but if you’d like to leave a small donation, it’s always appreciated.
Let’s keep the studio tidy, respectful, and ready for the next wave of makers.
