This is a focused 2-hour workshop centered on transforming a garment you already own.
Bring one piece from your closet that you’re ready to redesign. We’ll assess the garment together and explore possibilities for reshaping, cropping, patching, or reconstructing it.
You’ll learn practical sewing techniques used in fashion upcycling while working directly on your own piece.
Guidance will be provided throughout the process so you can make confident design decisions and complete meaningful changes during the session.
Basic sewing machines, tools, and select studio materials will be available.
Participants should bring their garment and any trims or fabrics they may wish to incorporate.
No prior sewing experience is required, though some familiarity with a sewing machine can be helpful.
Ideal for beginners, artists, sewists, and anyone craving a creative escape.

Garments with simple construction are easiest to transform in a short session. Oversized shirts, jeans, denim jackets, hoodies, and basic dresses work especially well.
-
Very delicate fabrics (silk, chiffon), heavily lined garments, formalwear, or complicated tailoring are difficult to alter within the workshop timeframe. When in doubt, bring something simple.

-
Sewing machines, basic tools, and select studio materials will be available. If you have special trims, patches, or fabrics you’d like to use, feel free to bring them.
