What We Do.

We will sew a tote bag. Why? It’s a classic beginner-friendly project that packs a punch, is useful, and a major payoff. If your kiddo sticks with sewing, this tote will carry patterns, fabric, and supplies like a (semi) pro. By the end of the second class, your kiddo will be well on their way to sewing with (some) confidence.

+ Get a basic grip of the sewing machine ins and outs: All the words, all the knobs and dials.
+ Get stitchy with it: Straight stitch, curved seam, zig-zag, and stop-and-pivot technique.
+ Textiles and tools: Work with woven fabrics and sewing essentials - we’ve got it covered.

Why Introduce Sewing To Little Kids?

  • You are building their essential life skills in a fun, hands-on way.

  • You boost their creativity by letting them bring their ideas to 3-D life - making something tangible.

  • It develops fine motor skills. They handle fabric, thread needles and cut with scissors.

  • Guiding fabric through a sewing machine improves hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

  • It builds confidence and teaches practical skills. Understanding how clothes and textiles are made fosters appreciation for craftsmanship and sustainability.

  • Patience and focus is encouraged. Sewing requires attention to detail, problem-solving, and perseverance.
